Radoslav Nenadál

(30 October 1929, Šumperk – 17 July 2018, Prague)

Radoslav Nenadál first worked as senior lecturer at departments of non-Slavic languages, and from 1964, he lectured on the English language and especially on American literature at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. Apart from publishing numerous academic essays and afterwords, he was also a prolific translator of modern British and American fiction (James Thurber, William Styron, Truman Capote, John Irving, and others). From the mid-1980s, he focused on his own creative work and published several novels and collections of short stories.
