Applicants

The department offers the following programmes:

three-year BA programme English and American Studies (taught jointly with the Department of English Language and ELT Methodology)
three-year BA programme English Language and Literature in Education (taught jointly with the Department of English Language and ELT Methodology)
two-year MA programme Anglophone Literatures and Cultures with a choice of four specialized pathways (British Literature and Commonwealth Cultural Studies, American Literature, Irish Studies, Critical & Cultural Theory)
PhD programme in Anglophone Literatures and Cultures, designed for four years (full-time) or five to eight years (part-time)

All programmes are taught in English (apart from BA courses offered by the Department of English Language and ELT Methodology), although they may be referred to as “taught through the medium of Czech” on other websites. The entrance exams are also held in English (except for the written linguistics test in our BA programmes).
