Helena Znojemská

Senior Lecturer in English mediaeval and Renaissance literature, British studies and Literary Theory. Her research interests focus on Old English poetry and its cultural background. Her PhD thesis, Quod Christus cum Hinieldo: readings in the manuscript context of the Exeter Book, analysed the intertextual links within the codex and their functioning. She has published articles on Old English poetry and religious literature in Litteraria Pragensia and Prague Studies in English. She also translates Old English poetry and prose and participated in the activities of the Group for English Mediaeval Studies within the Czech Modern Language Association. Her translations appeared in two collections of translations from English medieval literature edited or co-edited by Jan Čermák.
