Damla Undar

Damla Undar is a PhD student in the Department of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures at Charles University. She holds an MA in Comparative Literature from The Pennsylvania State University and dual BA degrees in Political Science and Comparative Literature.

Her current research focuses on the intersection of philosophy and lyric poetry, tracing the emergence of techno-nihilism in American poets through the 19th to the 21st centuries. This project examines how poets articulate themselves in a landscape where language must learn to cut through digital noise, while also illuminating the warnings against hyper-accelerating technological and digital environments.

Her other research interests include U.S. history and culture, the novels of Chuck Palahniuk, digital humanities, and the reorientation of criminality in democratic societies.
