At the end of October, the Prague Microfestival (PMF) will take place, an annual festival of artistic creation combining contemporary experimental literary production with visual arts, film, and live performances.
PMF is not only a platform for experimental art, but also a meeting place. Despite its growing international prestige, PMF maintains strong ties to local Prague culture. It creates a space for friendly encounters between international poets and artists and local writers, students, and the public.
Previous editions have featured, for example, Pulitzer Prize and Lenore Marshall Award winner (1998 and 2007) Alice Notley, Pen Award for Translation of Poetry winner (2005) Pierre Joris, American conceptual writer Vanessa Place, Barrett Watten (René Wellek Award winner, 2004), Keston Sutherland, Paal Bhelke Andersen, and many others. They were joined by established and emerging Czech authors such as Jaromír Typlt (winner of the Jiří Orten Award, 1994), Ondřej Buddeus (winner of the Magnesia Litera Award for 2014), and Markéta Baňková (winner of the Czech Book Award 2016).
