The Department of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures cordially invites everybody interested to two events with the Scottish poet and academic Peter Mackay (University of St Andrews).

The lecture, entitled “Re-writing the Middle Ages in the 19th and 20th Centuries”, will take place on Thursday 9 November 2023, at 12:30 – 14:00, in Room 1 (Faculty of Arts, Jan Palach Square 2, Prague 1).

The reading will take place on Friday 10 November 2023 at 19:00 at Kampus Hybernská (Hybernská 4, Prague 1). The poet’s work will be featured in Gaelic, English, and in Czech translations by Petra Johana Poncarová, as part of the launch of the special issue of the magazine PLAV focused on contemporary poetry in Irish and Scottish Gaelic.
