Information for current students

The English and American Studies programme runs in two principal forms of study: the three-year BA programme and the two-year MA programme. The Department also offers a PhD programme in Anglo-American Literary Studies, designed for three (internal) or five to eight (external) years.

This section provides detailed information on the structure and specific content of the individual study programmes, as well as a description of the final examination concluding each programme and the requirements on the content, structure and formatting of the thesis.

The right-hand column "Download" section supplies fast links to important documents offerring additional information on the subject covered in the text of the respective page. Comprehensive information on study regulations with links to all relevant documents (in Czech) can be accessed at the faculty webpage. The most important documents are also available in English.

Academic misconduct

In view of the continuing increase in the number of cases of plagiarism the Department has agreed on a zero tolerance policy in this matter.

The submission of a work wholly or partly plagiarized will hence be considered as a failure to meet the requirements for assessment of the course and will result in immediate termination of study.

To prevent unintentional lapses, students are advised to consult the Guidelines for academic essays available for downloading on this page.

Please consult also the Dean's provision stating the official stance of the Faculty authorities.
