The module offers an overview of post-war history of the (British) Isles through parallel perspectives of Ireland and Great Britain, emphasising the wider context of this economically, culturally and, to some degree, politically interconnected region. Structured chronologically, each lecture will focus on different decade, with special lessons on foreign affairs and the Troubles.

The concept of the module is based on cooperation as well as confrontation between both lecturers whose academic interest lies in one or the other part of the Isles. Each lecture will be taught jointly.

Open to all students regardless their prerequisite knowledge.
