M. Nic Eoin: Perspectives on Modern Irish-language Literature

The KREAS project and the Centre for Irish Studies, Department of Anglophone Literatures and Cultures, invite you to the lecture "Minor, National or Global? Perspectives on Modern Irish-language Literature" by Professor Máirín Nic Eoin (Dublin City University).

The lecture will be held on Tuesday 12 November, at 12:30 –14:00 in Room C49 (Celetná). All welcome.

Máirín Nic Eoin is Professor Emerita at Dublin City University and a member of the Royal Irish Academy. Her research interests include the history and sociology of literature and the development of critical approaches suited to the forms and themes of literature in a minoritised language. Her most important publications include: An Litríocht Réigiúnach (An Clóchomhar, 1982); Eoghan Ó Tuairisc: Beatha agus Saothar (An Clóchomhar, 1988); B’Ait Leo Bean: Gnéithe den Idé-eolaíocht Inscne i dTraidisiún Liteartha na Gaeilge (An Clóchomhar, 1998); and Trén bhFearann Breac: An Díláithriú Cultúir agus Nualitríocht na Gaeilge (Cois Life, 2005). She was editor or co-editor of three literary volumes and five academic books. Critical essays by her on many aspects of modern Irish-language literature have been published in various scholarly journals and books.
